Documentation: Key Metrics

What are key metrics?

In Homepal, key metrics represent your organization’s most important metrics — carefully selected, customized, and directly connected to your goals and strategies. They bridge the gap between strategy and daily work, showing how every effort contributes to the bigger picture.

How it works

Key metrics can be strategic (high-level) or operational (day-to-day), making it easy to track how your organization is progressing toward its goals.

They’re displayed in a tree structure that clearly shows how metrics and objectives are connected.

The top level of the tree always represents the organization’s overarching goal.

Overview

Documentation: Key Metrics > Overview 1

The Overview gives you a complete picture of how your organization works toward its goals and strategy in Homepal.

It displays a metric tree, where the system administrator manually defines how different key metrics relate to each other and to the overall objectives.

Documentation: Key Metrics > Overview 2

As a system administrator, you can click Edit to add, modify, or move goals and key metrics within the tree.

Contributing groups

Documentation: Key Metrics > Groups

Click the groups icon to open a dialog showing which groups are tracking and contributing to a key metric.

Here, the system administrator can add or remove groups linked to a specific key metric.

When a group is added, the key metric automatically appears on that group’s page. See: Groups

Strategic connection

Documentation: Key Metrics > Tree

You can always open a dialog to view the strategic connection for a key metric — for example, from a group’s page. This shows which strategic key metric and goal it contributes to.

The view is based on the same metric tree as in the organization’s overview, but filtered to highlight only the relevant relationships.

Tips

  • Keep goals short, concrete, and measurable whenever possible.

  • Limit the number of key metrics — they should reflect only what truly drives your organization’s performance.
