“But we already have Insight...?” - How the tools differ and why you need Homepal anyway

You've pitched Homepal to the rest of the organization but you're being met with "We already have Insikt?". In this blog post, we explain the difference between Homepal and Insikt.

Briefly about Homepal

Homepal is a Business Intelligence tool built entirely for the needs of real estate companies - and we don't work with any other kind of company. This means that we know exactly which key figures you need to analyze, follow up and report on. This applies whether you work in a private or municipal company, with housing or commercial objects, and whether you belong to a fund company or property management company.

Thanks to our focus on real estate companies, we can do the opposite of other BI providers. With Homepal, you don't have to ping-pong back and forth with consultants, discussing requirements, calculations, changes, definitions, and explanations of what industry-specific concepts. You know, all that stuff regular BI providers need.

Homepal has ready-made dashboards that cover the real estate companies' needs for monitoring, reporting and analysis. Our dashboards can be activated with one click and you can easily make changes and modifications without any technical data skills. You can also use our super simple tool to build your own dashboards.

We automate your monitoring and reporting, so you don't have to cut and paste in Excel to get the information you need. We pull data from your underlying systems every night, so you always have fresh information to base your decisions on. What's more, we have standard integrations with all the industry's mainstream systems, making implementation take weeks instead of months or, in the worst case, years.

And hey, it doesn't end there. With us, you get a personal trainer (just like at the gym!) who helps you with which dashboards to look at based on your particular business. Plus, any progress and development that we do with an individual client is shared with ALL of our clients. This means that we help move the industry forward together, and no one has to reinvent the wheel when it comes to monitoring and reporting. We've already done that once.

How is Homepal different from Insikt?

It is common for real estate companies to use Insikt for financial follow-up. Insikt is a great tool for the finance department, but the administration has completely different needs that are not met very well in Insikt. To be able to work more actively and proactively to improve results, those working with management need continuous information about what is happening in the portfolio.

Let's take an example!

Both the finance department and the management are interested in knowing about rent shortfalls (link to dashboard), but it is the management's task to reduce rent shortfalls. In Insight, rent shortfalls are detected by looking at the profit and loss account once a month or quarter to get an idea of how the business performed in the previous period. This means that you get access to the information between one and three months after an event has occurred, making it impossible to work proactively and act in time. [IMAGE]

With Homepal, you can see the current rent shortfall, trends and forecasts going forward based on the existing contract structure to be able to work proactively to counteract rent shortfalls. Homepal thus ensures that you have the conditions to minimize the lagging rent shortfall you can read in your performance report. This means that the management can work much more actively to improve key figures during the month (or quarter), instead of getting a unpleasant surprise when the problem is already a fact.

In other words, Homepal helps to involve the whole organization in what affects the economy, not just the economists.

The arguments you should put forward to the organization

  • With Homepal, you actively work in the present instead of putting out fires after the problem has already occurred.

  • In Homepal, everything real estate companies need to keep track of to do a good job of management is fully automated.

  • Homepal manages itself. When you get Homepal, it will continue to get better and better without you having to pay more for it.

The bottom line

Homepal is a Business Intelligence tool specialized for real estate companies. With automatic data retrieval and ready-made dashboards for real estate companies' needs in follow-up, reporting and analysis, it becomes easy to work proactively with management. We are passionate about increasing the pace of innovation in the real estate industry and drive our product forward together with our customers.
